Since the advent of EBT/CBT principles, flight training has evolved to an adaptive format of addressing individual pilot requirements. The implementation of this training philosophy has been globally adopted by multiple airlines and ATOs.
Initially, the webinar will review the timeline of EBT/CBT training from concept to inception and how it has impacted the experience of instructors, examiners and trainees. Acknowledging recent advances in the learning sciences, it will bring together viewpoints from across different areas of academia, learning and development and psychology to provide insight as to how competencies are identified, observed and trained.
Finally, the webinar will also look at how future advances such as the area of autonomous systems may influence competencies. Will our approach need to develop in line with technology? Are all competencies equally weighted and will the role of a pilot require more emphasis on certain competencies?
