My name is Andrea Biondo. I am 32 years old and I fly the Boeing 787 and Boeing 737 aircraft out of Italy. In addition to being a pilot, I am a fitness entrepreneur and a nutrition & fitness coach. I love to help aviation professionals regain confidence in their bodies and health which many desire, especially during times when we feel the need to renew ourselves.
I’ve been in aviation for 10 years during and in that time I have flown around the world. I love long-haul flights and before the pandemic began, I focused on routes to the USA and the Far East flying the Boeing 787.
For most of us, becoming a pilot wasn't easy and it came at a high price.
And as pilots we become masters of productivity and of achieving results, but our biggest and most common mistake is we don’t prioritize our health and wellbeing. Like many in our profession, I have, giving all my energy and free time to my aviation career.
I made this mistake too. Ever since I can remember, I wanted to be a professional athlete in the fitness field, but I kept postponing my dream because flying became my only priority! Until one day I decided that my health should be my first priority no matter what. At the same time, I realized that in all my years I’d been trying to find a way to make my aviation lifestyle healthier, more fulfilling and to live a longer, happier life.
I came up with the idea of combining aviation and fitness for aviators! This prompted me to embrace the challenge to create something unique for one of the most globalized communities in the world. Together with an amazing team of professionals, I created BeFit2Fly, an online live coaching platform where offering lifestyle, nutrition and fitness coaching to aviation professionals all over the world in real-time. We strive to deliver the most effective, sustainable and attainable program for everyone out there based on your lifestyle and unique needs!
I am honored to be a part of Airside and to be a key contributor to health & wellness articles. I’m looking forward to sharing with you from one pilot to another, information on nutrition, exercising and general wellness. Staying connected within the aviation community is paramount, especially now as some of us take this unexpected free time off.
