Whether you need help finding your next job, or just some career advice, there are a lot of benefits of using a recruitment consultant. CAE has a large team of recruitment consultants assisting pilots in their job search each day. Keep reading to find out more!
To get the most success from using a recruitment consultant, here are our 10 recommendations:
Have a phone call with them. That initial call will allow them to determine the right positions for you based on your experience and requirements.
Be honest. Tell them why you are looking to move, what locations you are interested in and what salary expectation you have. Being honest will ensure they can match you to the airline that’s the best fit.
Be Realistic. Not every position is going to meet 100% of what you’re looking for, for example, having high salary expectations may not be realistic. Take the advice they are offering you and let them show you all the options.
Be transparent. If you have previously applied directly to the airline or through another agency, let them know. It can reflect badly on you and the recruitment consultant if you are not transparent.
Have patience. Remember, the recruitment consultant could be looking after another 50 applications at the same time. Remember they are working hard on your application, and won’t send it until it's perfect so that you have the best chance of getting an interview.
Ask questions. Go through the terms and conditions of the position with the recruiter. Ask any questions you have, if they don’t know, they can ask the airline for you.
Follow through with commitments. If you are applying to an airline and there is a deadline for documents, remember to send them in time. The recruiter wants you to get the job as much as you want the job!
Send in all the requested documents. If the recruiter is asking for specific documents, try your best to provide them, as these are what is needed by the airline.
Ask for help at the interview stage. You’re not alone going for an interview and your recruitment consultant can help you with potential questions and inform you of the interview format.
Build a relationship. If anything changes in your situation let the recruiter know. Email and call to stay in touch on a regular basis. ✈️ Looking for a pilot job?
